USFS Leaf Viewing and Fall Color Hotline

Friday September 5, 2003
The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Forest Service has activated its leaf color hotline for the 2003 leaf viewing season. Their hotline will provide national forest visitors weekly updates on fall foliage color changes throughout the nation.
The high aspens out West and the sourwoods in the East are just starting to kick off the display. Keep up with the week to week change. For complete leaf information this year, check out links at Fall Tree Colors and Photosynthesis.
Every leaf peeper should have a leaf guide. Here is a review of several -Fall and Autumn Tree Identification Resources and Field Guides.
