PLT: Timber Extractor's "Big Lie"

John F. Borowski, a Maine science teacher, has a lot of bad things to say about Project Learning Tree. Borowski writes in Common Dreams that PLT is funded by "the worst clearcutters on earth" who have committed the greatest sin in education: omission.
The environmental and marine science teacher suggests that Project Learning Tree, while doing "some good activities" still "ingeniously weaves a web of deception for unsuspecting teachers." Borowski says that PLT is responsible for the forest industry's Big Lie where "slick lesson plans are presented to an overworked and exhausted teacher" in an attempt to persuade them to use the classroom material.
I don't know how many of you are familiar with Project Learning Tree. It is widely accepted as appropriate forestry knowlege through the University level and is embraced by forest scientists.
