The Legend of the Charter Oak

Thursday June 23, 2005
"The Charter Oak is Connecticut's official State Tree. An image of the Charter Oak was selected to emblazon the back of Connecticut's state quarter" says About guide for Hartford, CT, Kim Knox Beckius. This white oak tree died in 1857 but the legend still lives on both a historical and botanical level.
