San Francisco: Photographer Jack Gescheidt places nude volunteers in interesting looking trees, takes their pictures posed on branches and sells prints to support his TreeSpirit Project. Gescheidt reports that a significant portion of his profits will go to nonprofit environmental groups to include Friends of the Urban forest and Campaign for Old Growth.
Gescheidt credits Julia Butterfly Hill as being a source of inspiration. You might remember that Hill lived in a tree called "luna" to prevent it from being harvested. Gescheidt's stated mission for the "Project" is to share his love of trees with others and to raise money to help preserve and plant trees.
