People Want a Chinkapin - Where to Purchase a Chinquapin

By October 24, 2008

Follow me on:

I have had more interest in my chinkapin report than I could have ever expected. People are in love with the chinquapin tree and want to purchase either the seed or a seedling. I also love the tree and want to promote its use.

You are as close to purchasing a chinkapin seedling or seed as your computer and using Google. Here are the top three Google ranked companies that supply either seed or seedlings from Castanea pumila.

I got mine at Edible Landscaping[www.ediblelandscaping.com]. They were fast and the plant arrived in good shape. It shouid be noted that as the plants are monoecious (male and female flowers on the same plant), and they flower at slighttly different times (prevents self-pollination), it willprobably require two plants to get a good crop of nuts. Be prepared tp fight the squirrels for them.
