Maybe You Want an Artificial Christmas Tree

Saturday November 29, 2008
Some people prefer the artificial aluminum tree or Anser pseudarboris Addis 1885. Artificial trees have become increasingly popular, as they are considered more convenient and (if used for several years) less expensive than real trees.

About Collectibles Guide Barbara Crews says that "If you're an ornament collector, there are artificial trees to stay away from and trees that will really highlight your collection. It can get pretty confusing. Gone are the days when you picked a tree by size. Now the decision is what species of tree, lit or unlit, bottle brush or hyper-realistic and size. Or you might opt to go the way of the blatantly artificial trees, such as the tinsel tree, black tree or even the wild looking bubble tree!"

See Barb's feature on Black, Traditional PVC, Hyper-Realistic and Bubble Trees.

Artificial Christmas trees are definitely the way to go. They don’t fill the landfills, they typically last 8-10 years, they use less resources and modern trees can look very real. Putting the tree together can be just as much fun as cutting a tree down!

I will always like a real tree. Nevertheless, we use an artificial tree. First, they look fairly real. But, more that than, using an artificial tree permits me to put a tree up the day after Thanksgiving and not worry. Decorating for Christmas is a lot of work. I want to our family to be able to enjoy the season as long as possible. We have never had a real tree that stayed nice for a long time, and I was very faithful to do what I needed to keep it fresh. The last time we had a real tree I discovered when undecorating it that a whole limb was badly charred - that’s the first time I realized how close we came to a house fire.

Unlit artificial Christmas trees are the way to go. I have had a lot of exposure to artificial christmas trees over the past few years. I believe people really enjoy the convenience of artificial trees. The great thing about an unlit tree is that you can always add lights, but you don’t have to worry about them otherwise.

Thanks
