An interesting discusson on my forestry forum is centered on the claim that a small, cold climate willow holds the title of "World's Smallest Tree". The tree's name is dwarf willow or Salix herbacea.
By definition a tree "is a woody plant with a single erect perennial trunk at least 3 inches in diameter at breast height (DBH)." Does that definition settle the argument that this woody plant is actually not a tree but a woody shrub. Read more and you decide.
