Foresters and forest land owners have a need to reestablish or reconstruct boundary lines around forested tracts. Original surveys were mostly done by professional surveyors but overtime lines either disappear or need refreshing. Forest owners have traditionally used two relatively simple tools, the chain and compass, to do this work. Here are the basics on how to reconstruct forest boundary lines using these two tools.
