A discussion with rangers, foresters and forest owners has provided several recommendations for purchasing forestry/logging/hiking boots. I thought I would pass this information along and provide links to those top recommended companies that have Internet sites. Although many boot companies sell only through retail distributors and catalogs, you can purchase several of the boots right from this feature.
Promoters of these boots have had years of experience in the woods and, to my knowledge, have no particular connection to any of the boot companies. I tallied their votes in a poll on a recent feature and have listed the top boots in order of popularity.
