Definition: Limbing technique used to cut off the tops of felled trees whose stem is under stress. Two offset and bypassing cuts are made in the stem near the top of the tree. The first cut is made on the side of the tree that is under compression. The second cut is offset from the first and made on the side of the tree that is under tension.
