Location: The Gambia is in Western Africa, bordering the North Atlantic Ocean and Senegal.
The Resource: Mainly mangroves along the Gambia River with some limited closed "gallery" forests.
Cause of Problem: Poverty and drought causing widespread deforestation and desertification.
