Pine-Hardwood Forest Along the Natchez Trace: This
Mississippi mixed forest is composed of some pine and an abundance of oaks,
hickory and yellow poplar. This forest type runs nearly the entire 440
miles of the Natchez Trace. The Trace is an ancient, historic trading
route from Nashville, Tennessee to Natchez, Mississippi.
