Environmental Forestry Profile Results
Are you a preservationist, an environmentalist or a wise user? Determine your forestry environmental profile.

If you don't want to turn on javascript, you can score the quiz yourself.

If you have more 'a' answers, then you likely have preservationist beliefs.

If you have more 'b' answers, then you likely have environmentalist beliefs.

If you have more 'c' answers, then you are likely an advocate of  wise use beliefs.

If you have equal amounts of 'a', 'b' or 'c' answers, then you have a mixed style when using and enjoying the forest.

A preservationist belief tends to equate a supreme creator with the forces and laws of the universe. The true preservationist believes that we are part of nature, not above it and should take an "all hands off" approach to nature, including forests. The preservationist is, to some extent, influenced by "deep ecology"  and pantheism.

An environmentalist belief tends to want to limit using the natural world with a desire to preserve all species.  The radical environmentalist uses verbal and physical protest to exact an end. The channeled environmentalist wants to preserve forests using traditional organized groups to influence public policy.

A wise use belief tends to promote multiple-use management, which supports the idea that the forest be managed for many outputs, most of which are consumed directly by humans.  It supports the (traditional) Mosaic position of humans tending the forest.
