Umbrella-tree or Bigleaf Magnolia - Magnolia macrophylla
One of nine eastern magnolias, big leaf magnolia grows the largest flower of any native North American tree species. The flowers are cup-shaped and from 10 to 12 inches wide. This species gets its name from the umbrella-like arrangement of the long leaves.
