Strapping Seedling Bales
Paper covered bundles of seedlings are usually strapped in tight with plastic bands and with sticks used to support the package and prevent crushing. Straps over paper are used in lieu of plastic wrap due to molding and overheating problems when seedlings are packed in air tight containers.

Philip Wilson comments:
"Plastic bands are applied to keep the bundle tight which helps keeps seedlings moist and transportable."
