The memorials were erected...

The Alpine Bank of Glenwood Springs, when trying to raise funeral expenses for the firefighter families, collected more than $433,000. This generosity of giving was beyond anything that anyone could have predicted and was distributed to the families.

A group called the Storm King 14 Committee also raised well over $165,000 and erected a statue and individual memorials for the fourteen at Glenwood Springs' Two Rivers Park. In Prineville, Oregon, home base for the Prineville Hotshots, other memorials were erected in the Ochoco Creek Park.
