A plaque about the wildfire at the observation point...

Observation Point Plaque

This plaque overlooks and defines the battlefield of the South Canyon Fire as nobly as thousands looking over our American civil war battlefields. It stands on a lonely, often windy observation point and provides a snapshot of that tragic moment (only several minutes) that took the lives of 10 men and 4 women. Their short dash for life ultimately ending in death leaves a visitor saddened and wondering how something like this could have ever happened.

On the plaque reads this:

"In storm and cloud and wind and sky,
in heart and mind and hand and eye,
A bond still binds too strong to tell,
All those who fly with those who fell."
