WAAS (Wide Area Augmentation System): Wide Area Augmentation System is an array of satellites and ground stations that provide GPS signal corrections. These correcting signals gives a GPS receiver improved position accuracy which averages up to five times better than a non-WAAS or disabled WAAS unit. A WAAS-capable receiver can give you a position accuracy of better than three meters 95 percent of the time.
Waypoint: A (usually two-dimensional) coordinate that is input into a navigation device, such as a GPS receiver, representing a position that a vessel, aircarft, vehicle or person has to navigate to, with the aid of GPS (and/or any other position fixing device).
