According to Duke University research, contact with poison ivy is one of the most reported ailments at poison centers in the United States. Reports of increased size and toxicity of poison plants has been confirmed by scientists. They are blaming climatic conditions conducive to plant growth and more people spending time outdoors.

Ivarest is one of a new group of over-the-counter medications designed to target allergic reactions to urushiol producing poison plants by providing itch and allergy relief as well as help in drying the oozing rash. Urushiol is the active compound that causes itching, pain, redness and irritation.

The product provides a triple dose of active ingredients including calamine as a skin protectant, benzyl alcohol as an analgesic and diphenhydramine hydrochloride as an antihistamine.
