Vote for the Best Fall Color Vacation in North America

Follow me on:

I have listed 10 "best" autumn leaf trips people are telling me they most enjoy. These are examples of the most beautiful areas for autumn and fall color viewing in the United States and Canada. I picked these fall foliage locations using several criteria: They represent great color views within a reasonable distance for most North Americans to visit. They all have grand reputations as a "must see" fall display. They all are located near national forests and parks.

Think of it this way. If you were given an all expense paid vacation to visit a forest during the fall leaf-viewing season, which one of these trips would you choose. Please vote using the attached poll for either your favorite leaf viewing spot or a vacation you would most like to take.

I also give you another way to interact. If you have a favorite leaf peeping vacation you would rather do but is not included in my poll, you can include your favorite at the very bottom of this blog in the comments section. Also, send me an email photo attachment in support of your pick.

I will consolidate all comments and consider changes if another area is highly promoted. The comment section is reserved for anyone who has a perfect fall forest vacation that is not on the list I have provided. Make a good case for your favorite and I will add it to the list. A good photo you have taken would help your cause.

I also make this a little easier by giving you some detailed information on each fall color vacation listed in the poll. Read my report on the initial list of top ten best places to view autumn leaves.

What about the North Shore drive from Duluth to Grand Portage, in Minnesota? This travels along the rocky North shore of Lake superior, which is beautiful in itself. Add the fall colors and it’s like having fall colors along the Big Sur. p.s. I agree on the Finger Lakes region too.

Unfortunately you did not list West Virginia.

WV is one of the most overlooked states for beauty and splendor.

The tranquility and serene mountains of the Mountain State are very pleasing.

I vote for West Virginia as my favorite place to see Fall Foliage!

Parke County, Indiana is home to the Covered Bridge Festival starting the 2nd Friday of October and runs for 10 days. This is a wonderful Midwest outing and the maple tree displays are magnificent!
