Loblolly pine in nursery bed (Alabama)
Baby Loblolly Pines: "It is the most widely spread
southern yellow pine and was named for a partuclular shipmate that made soup for sick
sailors. The tree seemed to grow in conditions that looked like his soup, hence the
name...."
