Jack-in-the-pulpit or Indian Turnip - Arisaema triphyllum

The distinctive "Jack-in-the-pulpit" grows under large leaves. The flower has a hood that curves over a cup-like formation.  Inside this "pulpit" is a spadix called "Jack".  This spadix bears tiny separate male and female flowers at its base.  Indian turnip grows from Canada to Florida.
