Basemap to Bearing

Basemap: Most GPS receivers come with built-in basemaps, which typically have limited coverage of bodies of water, cities and towns, interstates plus some highways and railroads, airports, and political boundaries.

Bearing: The compass direction from a position to a destination, measured to the nearest degree (see azimuth). In a GPS receiver, bearing usually refers to the direction to a waypoint.
